Reykjavík is a small, friendly capital and the base for exploring Iceland’s waterfalls, glaciers and black sand beaches. The Golden Circle and the south coast are both easy day trips.
Visit from September to March for the best chance of seeing the northern lights, or in June and July for the midnight sun.
